LGV C+E Driver (HGV Class 1) – Days (Peterborough)
Pay & Contract
Pay Rate: £39,736 per annum (based on a 48-hour week, £15.92 per hour including paid breaks). Overtime (Mon–Sat) paid at £23.88 per hour. Permanent, Full-Time role.
Location & Grade
- Location: Peterborough, PE1 5FQ
- Grade: RCS Grade O
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, start times between 06:00–07:00.
About the Role
Are you part of the team that keeps Britain moving? As a DHL Supply Chain LGV C+E Driver (HGV Class 1), you’re not just delivering goods—you’re keeping industries running, from #automotive parts to #healthcare logistics.
You’ll: ✅ Drive safely in compliance with Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations ✅ Ensure health and safety adherence to Highway Code, road safety rules, and vehicle regulations ✅ Overtime paid daily (time and a half, ~5 hours/week) ✅ Make 1–3 deliveries daily across North East, Midlands, plus return to Stafford, Nuneaton, or Peterborough ✅ Load/unload curtain-sided trailers and FLTs (Flatbed Trailers) ✅ Use ratchet straps for strapping loads

Typical Day Tasks
📍 Key Driver Responsibilities:
- Move engine parts (heavy goods)
- Adhere to strict schedules while maintaining limited stops (~5 hours overtime weekly)
Person Specification
This role is perfect if you have: ✔ A valid HGV Class 1 licence + CPC Qualification + Digital Tachograph Card ✔ 12+ months recent HGV experience ✔ Curtain-sided trailer experience ✔ Can-do attitude and live near Peterborough
