Class 1 Large Goods Vehicle Driver – Permanent Contract

Your Role

Are you an LGV-licenced driver looking for a permanent role where you can be on the road without the burden of overnight stays or multi-drop routes?

We’re recruiting Class 1 Large Goods Vehicle Drivers for a 24-hour operational shift rota based at Midlands Super Hub (Drift Drive, Crick, NN6 7GZ).

Working 36 hours and 15 minutes per week (with part-time roles available), you’ll follow a rotating schedule, including night shifts, weekends, and bank holiday working. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of keeping the UK connected!


About The Role

As an LGV Driver, you’ll play a critical role in Royal Mail’s logistics network. Below are your core responsibilities:

  • Collect and transport mail from various sites, ensuring smooth movement through the Roy-Cotation process.
  • Drive independently across fixed routes across the UK, loading/unloading vehicles while keeping load security intact.
  • Work within tight deadlines, leveraging modern technology support to maximise efficiency.

About You

This is a role for someone who’s self-motivated, reliable, and flexible. To be considered, you’ll need:

  • Valid UK manual Class 1 licence (C&E), with no more than 6 penalty points and no TT99 (totting-up) endorsements.
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods without supervision.
  • Organised and punctual – demonstrating responsibility and adherence to schedules.
  • Shift-ready and adaptable, comfortable with unpredictable schedules (weekends, late nights, and overnights).
  • Community-driven: Someone who takes pride in connecting the UK and making a tangible difference.
