About the Role
Are you an LGV-licensed driver looking for a repeatable role that allows you to stay on the road without overnight stays or multi-drop routes?
Royal Mail Group is recruiting Class 1 Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Drivers for permanent contracts, working flexible shifts across our 24-hour Super Hub based in the Midlands.
Hours: 36 hours and 15 minutes per week Duties:
- Rotating shift pattern, including night shifts, weekends, and bank holiday work
Core Responsibilities
Each day, Royal Mail transports millions of pieces of mail across the UK and beyond, ensuring they reach their destinations on time. As a fixed-route LGV driver, you’ll play a vital role in keeping that commitment intact.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting and transporting mail across designated routes within the UK
- Loading and unloading vessels efficiently within tight schedules
- Driving long-haul and regional routes independently
- Ensuring the security of your load at all times
- Utilising state-of-the-art technology to streamline operations

To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Valid UK manual C&E licence – holding a Class 1 LGV licence with no more than six penalty points
- Exclusions apply for TT99 (totting up) endorsements
- Self-motivated attitude – capable of working unsupervised for extended periods
- Highly organised and punctual – able to demonstrate initiative and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to adapt – readiness to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holiday periods
- Professional drive safety – driven to prioritise road safety and community connections
