Class 1 Shunter Driver (Part Time) – Derby (DE1 9TA)

Thursdays & Fridays | 15:00–00:00 | £15,897.66 + £1,480 allowance

About Yusen Logistics

Yusen Logistics is working to become the world’s preferred supply chain logistics company. Our complete offer is designed to forge better connections between businesses, customers and communities – through innovative supply chain management, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution services. As a company we’re dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring everyone who works with us is committed, connected and creative in making us the world’s preferred choice.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our team on a part-time basis at our client’s Derby site. You’ll play a key role in keeping the operation moving by safely and efficiently manoeuvring trailers across the site in line with business requirements.

This is an ideal role for an experienced LGV driver who enjoys structured work, predictable hours and being part of a supportive on-site team. If you’ve shunted before, great — if not, we’ll provide full training to set you up for success.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving a TUG tractor unit to move trailers around the site
  • Ensuring smooth and efficient trailer flow across departments
  • Using a handheld device to receive workload instructions
  • Communicating clearly with the transport office
  • Providing excellent customer service to our client

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
