Class 1 Shunter

Salary: £37,440 - 41,600 per annum – standard 40 hr week

Location: Leamington Spa, CV31

Days: Monday to Friday

Standard hours: 05:00-13:30 / 13:00-21:30

Overtime is available after 40 hours.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time vacancy.

The Vacancy

Our client in Leamington Spa have grown and are looking to employ 2 x Class 1 Shunters on a permanent basis.

Morning & Afternoons shifts available.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, as a Class 1 Shunter you are responsible for the distribution of stock between different warehouse facilities.

About You!

  • Category C+E Driving Licence is essential with a minimum of 2 years’ experience., CPC and Tacho
  • Previous experience as a Class 1 shunter is essential.
  • A good geographical knowledge of the local and surrounding areas.
  • Your customer focused experience and expertise will underpin your ability to deliver this role fully.
  • Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and an attention to detail is essential.
  • Good physical health is required as this can be a physically demanding role at times.
  • Flexible in your approach to work, able to work reasonable overtime if required, and adhere to all health & safety practice.

About the Role!

  • Distribution of packaging product between warehouse facilities (circa 5 miles apart).
  • Must be confident in completing thorough vehicle checks and must be prompt in completing any required defects paperwork in full.
  • Driving company vehicles in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner, including operating within the necessary transport regulations regarding driving hours, in line with company policies and legislation.
  • Operating all lifting equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company Safety Directives and method statements.
  • No requirement to work on the weekend or Bank Holidays, offering a strong work/life balance.
