Class 2 Driver

Class 2 (Cat C) Driving Roles – Store to Home Driver (Full-Time, Permanent)

About the Role

Here at GXO (working with B&Q), we’re recruiting experienced Class 2 (Cat C)/Class 7.5T (C1) Drivers to join our Store to Home team based in Erdington (B35 7RD) on a full-time, permanent basis (40hrs/week).

You’ll play a key part in delivering B&Q products directly to customers, ensuring their dream home improvements arrive efficiently and professionally.


Shift Patterns

We’re currently offering two rotating shift schedules:

  • Option 1

    • Week 1: Monday to Friday
    • Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday
    • Start time: 07:00
  • Option 2

    • Week 1: Monday to Friday
    • Week 2: Sunday to Thursday
    • Start time: 11:00

Your Typical Day

You’ll be delivering products to customers’ homes with precision and care. Responsibilities include:

  • Multi-drop deliveries – 16 drops/day (off-peak) • 24 drops/day (peak season)
  • Accurate time recording via Tachomaster and manual entries (compliance with WTD regulations)
  • Safe and efficient vehicle operation (company vehicles only)
  • Product checks & documentation – ensuring correct orders are delivered and signed for
  • Proactive communication – updating customers on ETAs and handling issues courteously

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Previous delivery experience (multi-drop, store-based preferred but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence with either C2 or C entitlement (Class 7.5T acceptance considered)
  • No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC, or TT endorsements)
  • Up-to-date CPC card and digital tachograph compliance
  • Excellent customer service skills (both written and verbal)
  • Confirmation of eligibility for DBS disclosure (applied pre-employment)
  • Willingness to commute to Erdington (B35 7RD)
