Class 2 (Cat C) Driver – Store to Home (Full-Time) | Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh (EH11 4DG)
Are you an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver looking for a stable role with B&Q? Do you thrive on delivering excellence and bringing happiness to customers’ doors? If so, join GXO and become an integral part of B&Q’s Store to Home team!
We’re recruiting for a permanent, full-time (40hr/week) Class 2 Driver based in Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh (EH11 4DG). Reporting to the Store to Home team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring customers receive their B&Q products safely and promptly.
Role & Responsibilities
Shift Patterns
- Week 1: Monday to Friday
- Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday
- Start Time: 07:00 daily
Key Duties
- Deliver high-quality customer service by ensuring B&Q products are delivered to the correct customer premises (room of choice)
- Achieve approx. 16 multidrops/day (off-peak) and 24 multidrops/day (peak season) efficiently and accurately
- Maintain compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations, including accurate recording of driving/working hours via the Tachomaster system
- Operate company vehicles (HGV Cat C) in a safe, legal, and efficient manner, strictly adhering to road safety guidelines
- Check and confirm all deliveries, documentation, and product accuracy, ensuring customers receive the correct items
- Monitor and communicate delivery updates, including estimated times of arrival (ETA), while resolving issues with politeness and professionalism

Who We’re Looking For
Applicants must meet the following essential requirements:
- Proven Class 2 (Cat C) experience, ideally with multidrop deliveries (preferred but not mandatory)
- Full UK driving licence (including Cat C entitlement)
- No more than 6 penalty points (no endorsements for DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC, or TT)
- Up-to-date Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph compliance
- Exceptional customer service skills (both verbal and written communication)
- Willingness to undergo a DBS Check (as part of pre-employment checks)
- Ability to commute to Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh (EH11 4DG)
