Class 2 Driver | Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh | B&Q

Experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver – Permanent Position, Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh

About the Role

Here at GXO, we’re partnering with B&Q and are seeking highly experienced Class 2 Drivers to join our Store to Home team in Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh (EH11 4DG). You’ll be working a full-time, permanent basis with a 40-hour weekly contract for the following shift patterns:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday
  • Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday
  • Start time: 07:00 daily

What You’ll Do

A typical day includes:

  • Delivering B&Q products to customer premises, ensuring they reach the correct room (multidrop basis):
    • 16–24 deliveries per day (depending on peak season)
  • Accurate driving/working time records via Tachomaster, including manual entries to comply with Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
  • Operating company vehicles safely, legally, and efficiently
  • Verifying all products are correctly delivered, signed off, and accompanied by accurate delivery documentation
  • Keeping customers informed of estimated delivery times and handling issues with politeness and professionalism

Requirements

To succeed at GXO, you must:

  • Have previous experience in multidrop/store deliveries (preferable but not essential)
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with Category C entitlement
  • Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence and no offences for:
    • Dangerous driving (DD)
    • Driving while disqualified (DR/DG)
    • Dangerous driving speeding (BA)
    • Driving without a licence (CD)
    • Avoiding correction (AC)
    • Lacing or tampering with fuel (LC)
    • Offensive or disorderly conduct (TT)
  • Maintain an up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills (written and verbal)
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Be prepared to commute to Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh (EH11 4DG) for the assigned shift pattern
