Customer Service Driver – Local Delivery (Part-Time/Full-Time) | Job Ref: D61


About the Role

  • Working 45 hours per week across a "Any 5 from 7" contract (including weekend shifts due to shift patterns).
  • Our drivers are the heart of our business, responsible for delivering exceptional service and ensuring customers receive orders on time.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a smart and professional personal appearance, embodying ‘The Face of Booker’ at all times.
  • Safely and professionally driving a clean, presentable vehicle (inside and out).
  • The proper use of delivery equipment (cages, bars, straps, tail lift, etc.).
  • Knowledge of vehicle defects and understanding vehicle defect policy.
  • Continuous H&S risk assessment during deliveries to ensure safe, accurate, and timely delivery.
  • Safe loading and unloading of the vehicle at all customer premises.
  • Adhering to company policies, processes, and GDPR guidelines at all times.
  • Upholding the Booker Code of Business Conduct and exhibiting *Win Together behaviours.
  • Supporting branch operations while off-road, including cleaning the vehicle and handling pick/wrap/load tasks.

Requirements

You will need:

  • Class 2 driving licence with previous knowledge.
  • Understanding of safe delivery equipment use.
  • Knowledge of vehicle defect policy and experience with this.
  • (Preferred) Previous use of a PDA for deliveries.
  • Resilience, a positive mindset, and *excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Multi-drop delivery experience preferred, though prior class 2 experience is essential.
