Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Class 2 Hiab Driver role based in Aberdeen. The driver will be responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading tools and equipment using a Hiab crane, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed on time and in line with company procedures. Daily tasks include performing vehicle and crane safety checks, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and following all road traffic and health and safety regulations. The role involves liaising with depot staff and customers, providing a professional and courteous service, and handling equipment with care to prevent damage. The driver may also support depot operations when required, including assisting with stock movement, basic equipment checks, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

  • Valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license, with a clean or low-risk driving record
  • Valid Hiab or lorry-mounted crane certification, with practical experience operating lifting equipment
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices, including safe loading, securing, and manual handling techniques
  • Good local route knowledge and the ability to plan efficient delivery schedules within Aberdeen and surrounding areas
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with a professional and respectful approach on-site and on the road
  • Ability to complete delivery notes and basic paperwork accurately, and follow company procedures consistently
  • Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work independently and as part of a depot team
  • Previous experience in equipment hire, construction, or a similar industry is beneficial
  • Basic mechanical awareness to identify and report vehicle or equipment issues promptly
