Fixed Term Class Teacher Position – Hamstead Primary School
About the Role
Governors are seeking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic class teacher to join our hardworking team in a fixed term contract, starting September 2026—subject to clearances.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:

- Maintain high expectations for all students and remain committed to raising standards and achievement.
- Deliver engaging, creative lessons and activities.

Key Details:
- Safeguarding: All applicants must undergo enhanced DBS checks (includingChildren’s Barring List) and safeguarding vetting.
- Language: Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory (per Immigration Act 2016).
- Interviews: Shortlisted candidates (within 28 working days of the close date) will be invited to observe/be interviewed, starting w/c Monday 13th July 2026.

Eligibility & Timeframes

- This posting is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; candidates will be subject to a proportional investment disabilities search during the shortlisting stage, and any legal issues arising can be discussed at interview.

- Hours: Full-time (Fixed Term—until 31st July 2027)
- Grade: Teacher Main Pay Range (M1 - M6) – £32,916 – £45,352 p.a.
- Location: Hamstead Primary School, Hamstead Road, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5BE.
