Leader Education are seeking committed Classroom Support Assistants to support students in schools across Greater Manchester. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within education while helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.

Classroom Support Assistants play an important role in supporting students within the classroom, helping to create a positive learning environment where all pupils can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support to pupils who require additional academic or behavioural assistance.
  • Assist teachers with classroom preparation, activities and daily routines.
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, participation and engagement in learning.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND and SEMH needs where required.
  • Promote students’ confidence, independence and social development.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, care, coaching or support roles).
  • Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, adaptable and positive approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
