Randstad Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Classroom Support Assistants with a strong understanding of phonics. We have a variety of day-to-day, short-term, and long-term supply roles available in primary schools across Leeds, allowing you to build a work schedule that fits perfectly around your lifestyle.

Key requirements

To be successful in this supply role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Essential UK Experience: You must have recent, hands-on experience supporting pupils within a UK primary school classroom setting.
  • Phonics Knowledge: A solid, practical understanding of UK phonics programmes (such as Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics, or Little Wandle) to assist children with early reading and writing.
  • Curriculum Awareness: Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum.
  • Safeguarding Compliance: A valid, enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or a willingness for a new one through Randstad.
  • Key Classroom Skills: Excellent communication, a warm and encouraging approach to learning, and the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
