Classroom Support Assistant : Specialist SEN School

Location: Cranleigh, Surrey (exact location shared upon application)

Salary: Competitive (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Working under the guidance of Qualified Teachers and our specialist team, you will:

  • Provide direct one-to-one and small group support to students in the classroom.
  • Assist in implementing individualised learning programmes and behaviour support plans.
  • Help students achieve their academic, social, and communication goals.
  • Support the implementation of strategies based on Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviours.
  • Contribute to the use of Comprehensive Application of Behaviour Analysis to Schooling (CABAS) teaching methodologies, ensuring data collection and progress monitoring.
  • Help create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development sessions.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning materials.

What we are looking for

  • A minimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to our location and the need to support potential off-site activities.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with autism.
  • An understanding of, or a strong willingness to learn, about Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and CABAS teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
