The Role

Your primary responsibility is to maintain excellent cleanliness standards across all areas of The Bear, Melksham. By providing a pristine environment, you will enhance the customer experience consistently.

Shift flexibility is key, as the pub operates early mornings to late evenings and covers weekends. Below are some of your core duties:

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas: customer spaces, toilets, bar, kitchen, staff areas, and outside spaces.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the manager when restocking is required.
  • Report maintenance and pest-control issues to the manager immediately.
  • Engage politeness and professionalism while interacting with customers (e.g., greeting, thanking, and bidding farewell).
  • Complete induction, role-specific training, and ongoing refresher courses to support continuous improvement.
