Cleaner
Cleaner – The Orchard, Lancaster (Contractor Basis)
About The Role
Working Hours: This position is based at The Orchard, Lancaster, Monday to Friday between 12:30 PM and 6:00 PM.
As a Cleaner, you will play an essential role in ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment across our OCS sites, supporting clients, colleagues, and visitors.
Your responsibilities include maintaining high cleaning and hygiene standards in line with site specifications, health & safety policies and company values. Your key duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and emptying waste
- Clean welfare areas, offices, corridors, toilets, and other assigned spaces to the required standard
- Replenish consumables (e.g., toilet paper, soap, hand towels) as needed
- Adhere to all health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or hazards to the appropriate supervisor
- Ensure tasks are completed efficiently within agreed timescales
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service
- Support any site-specific cleaning requirements directed by your manager

Requirements
Essential
✔ Right to Work in the UK and ability to undergo a DBS check ✔ Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, public sector or similar environment (desirable but not required) ✔ Strong understanding of cleaning methods, equipment and materials ✔ Awareness of health & safety and hygiene standards ✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team ✔ Attention to detail with a commitment to high standards ✔ Reliable, punctual and flexible in approach ✔ Ability to follow instructions and procedures effectively
Desirable
▹ Experience in Facilities Management (FM) or contracted cleaning services ▹ Knowledge of COSHH or safe use of cleaning chemicals (training can be provided)
