Cleaner – Weekend Cover
About The Role
Days of Working: This position will be based at the The Bail Hostel, Brighton, with weekend availability (Saturdays and Sundays).
As a Cleaner, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for OCS clients, colleagues, and visitors across our sites. You will uphold high standards of cleaning and hygiene according to specified requirements, health & safety protocols, and our company values.
This role is focused on delivering polished cleaning services while ensuring all assigned areas are kept to consistently high standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct general cleaning duties, including:
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces
- Emptying waste bins
- Clean essential welfare areas:
- Offices, corridors, washrooms, and designated comunes
- Maintain provision of consumables:
- Restock toilet paper, hand towels, and soap
- Adhere to all health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment correctly and safely
- Report any damages, hazards, or maintenance issues to management
- Complete tasks speedily while ensuring quality
- Provide a professional, courteous service to clients, colleagues, and visitors
- Follow site-specific cleaning directives from managers

Requirements
Essential:
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check
- (Desirable but not essential) Previous cleaning experience in commercial, public sector, or equivalent environments
- Good understanding of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of health & safety, hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Attention to detail with a commitment to excellence
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible attitude
- Strong ability to follow procedures and instructions
Desirable:
- Experience in Facilities Management (FM) or contracted cleaning services
- Familiarity with COSHH or safe chemical use (training provided if needed)
