Part Time Cleaner – Defence, Government & Energy Role

Compass Group UK&I (ESS Services) is recruiting for a part-time Cleaner (15 hours per week) to join our cleaning and facilities teams, supporting Defence, Government, and Energy sectors. Help us deliver exceptional environments for our clients and customers by ensuring every space is spotless, safe, and hygienic.


About the Role

You’ll work as part of a dedicated team on a structured shift pattern, ensuring facilities meet high standards of cleanliness for defence, police, government, and energy sector environments—including military establishments, secure facilities, offshore rigs, and offshore accommodating units.

Your Shift Pattern (KeyFlex Hyperflex - Half Days)

  • Monday: Mornings
  • Tuesday: Mornings
  • Wednesday: Mornings
  • Thursday: Mornings
  • Friday: Mornings Saturday/Sunday: Not originally assigned – availability for additional or ad-hoc rostered shifts may be required

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside cleaning and facilities teams to maintain safe and hygienic environments for clients and customers
  • Daily tasks:
    • Dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping, and vacuuming designated areas to a high standard
    • Wiping and sanitising surface areas, floors, windows, and all touchpoints on a regular basis
    • Responding to spills and messes with prompt action efficiently and cleanly
  • Additional duties:
    • Emptying and disposing of waste from bins in designated areas
    • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels of cleaning products
    • Carrying out extra tasks as required by management

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking hardworking, detailing-focused individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a service-driven environment.

  • Experienced preference (but not essential): Prior cleaning or similar service role experience
  • Attention to detail & organisation: Keeping environments consistently clean and tidy
  • Enthusiasm for the role: Enjoying repetitive but critical cleaning tasks with a positive attitude
  • Flexible approach: Available for ad-hoc shifts, additional training, and task allocation as required
