Job Details
Proposed Interview Date: Week Commencing Monday 03 August 2026 Closing Date: Sunday 26 July 2026 Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Fife Council Living Wage (FCLW) £25,604.23 (pro rata) Working Pattern: 20 hours per week (40 weeks per year)
- Monday to Thursday: 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm
- Friday: 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Location: Dunfermline Learning Campus
About the Role
Are you detail-oriented and enjoy general cleaning? This is an ideal opportunity to join one of Fife Council’s cleaning teams, ensuring pupils and staff return to a clean and safe environment in schools across Dunfermline and the surrounding area.
We are now recruiting for a permanent, part-time (20 hours) cleaning operatives position at Dunfermline Learning Campus.

Salary & Benefits
You’ll receive:
- Hourly rate of £13.64 (Scottish Local Government Living Wage) plus additional shift pay (including weekends).
- Annualised pay over 40-week contracts (paid in equal 4-week instalments).
- Training & qualifications – Learn towards the Cleaning Operatives Proficiency Certificate.

The Person
No prior experience is required—training is provided.
Before starting, you’ll need to:
- Obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) clearance via Disclosure Scotland.
- Attend an individual training induction before commencing work.
