Cleaner
Cleaning Technician – Term-Time Roles (Days) at Hagley Catholic High School
About The Role
- Days of Working: 6am–8.30am Monday to Friday (term-time only), excluding bank holidays.
- Flexibility: 48.2-week working pattern mirrored to school terms, with extra hours focused on summer holidays for deep cleaning and preparations. (Holidays: Not permitted during term time.)
- Additional Requirement: Full enhanced DBS check provided by OCS.
This critical role ensures a clean, safe, and hygienic learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. You’ll uphold high standards across classrooms, communal areas, and facilities in alignment with health & safety and hygiene protocols.
Salary & Pay Structure
Annualised income paid monthly—consistent payments regardless of term dates—Ensuring fairness even during fewer working weeks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cleaning Technician, you’ll deliver exceptional cleaning standards:
- Maintain thorough and consistent cleaning across:
- Classrooms, corridors, offices, washrooms
- Welfare areas and designated spaces
- Daily tasks:
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, surface cleaning
- Emptying waste bins and restocking supplies (e.g., toiletries, soap)
- Challenging areas: Without training, report any necessary issues.
- Uphold strict routines:
- adhering to health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning procedures
- Equipment: Use tools safely; report faults/disasters
- Efficiency: Complete tasks within specified deadlines
- Professionalism: Engage courteously with colleagues, clients, and colleagues
- Specialist support: Roop to site-specific direction as needed

Essential Criteria
To excel in this role, you should:
- Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK; willing DBS check
- Experience: Background in commercial, public, or residential cleaning (not essential but desirable)
- Knowledge:
- Cleaning protocols & equipment
- FOST & hygiene standards
- Attributes:
- Capable of self-discipline, team collaboration
- Strong attention to detail & commitment to outstanding standards
- Reliable, punctual, adaptable, responsible
- Effective in instruction, procedures, and method execution
Desirable Qualifications
- Prior experience in: Facilience Services or Contracted Cleaning Services It’s symbiotic!
- Facility: COSSA or chemical utilisation proficiency; training available.
