Estates & Facilities – Campus Cleaner

About the Role
Our Facilities department ensures the smooth operation, cleanliness, safety, and overall student and staff experience at our campus, fostering an inspiring learning environment. As the GBS Campus Cleaner, you will play a vital role in preserving an immaculate environment by upholding strict cleanliness standards across all areas—from classrooms to external grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Campus-wide Cleaning: Thoroughly clean and maintain classrooms, offices, libraries, common areas, cafeteria (including dining), restrooms, and external grounds to the highest standard.
- Floor Care: Daily vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and polishing (as required) to ensure floors are spotless and free of debris.
- Surface & High-touch Sanitisation: Deep cleaning and disinfecting desks, tables, chairs, windows, whiteboards, door handles, and other frequently touched surfaces.
- Classroom Enhancement: Prepare classrooms by wiping down surfaces, cleaning whiteboards, rearranging furniture, and supplying necessary materials for smooth operations.
- Stock & Supply Management: Proactively track cleaning supplies, report stock shortages to the Facilities Manager, and request replenishments.

Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications
- Industry-Relevant Background: Previous cleaning or facilities maintenance experience in commercial or educational environments.
- Cleaning Mastery: Hands-on knowledge of professional cleaning chemicals and tools for diverse surfaces (e.g., steel, laminate, concrete).
- Customer-Service Orientation: History of delivering positive experiences in a customer-focused setting.
- Communication: Clear and professional verbal/written capability when liaising with colleagues and building users.
- Self-Starter: Ability to initiate tasks independently and problem-solve autonomously.
- Flexible Work Ethic: Proactive mindset with a "can-do attitude" to handle fluctuating demands.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to coshh regulations, equipment precautions, and safety protocols.
