Cleaner
Hourly Contract Cleaner – Lidl (20 Hours, Multiple Locations)
Summary
- £13.45 per hour (plus £2.00/hour for bank holiday shifts and £3.50/hour for night shifts)
- 20-hour contract with 30-35 days holiday (pro rata)
- 10% in-store discount

About the Role
At Lidl, we believe in making customers’ experiences exceptional from the moment they walk through the doors. As our Cleaner, you’ll be responsible for:
- Keeping store interiors and exteriors immaculate, from flooring to reception areas
- Operating industrial cleaning machinery with confidence and precision
- Maintaining store hygiene standards—especially in high-touch areas like welfare facilities and recycling bins
- Supporting minor maintenance tasks where necessary
- Ensuring Health and Safety compliance at all times

What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities include:

Store maintenance
- Thoroughly cleaning floors, fixtures, and displays to maintain store quality
- Ensuring trolley bays, car parks, and outdoor areas are spotless

Hygiene & safety
- Operating industrial equipment (e.g., polishers, mops) efficiently
- Cleaning toilets, welfare areas, and waste management zones
- Proactively upholding hygiene and Health & Safety standards

Reliability & initiative
- Carrying out minor maintenance tasks when required
- Staying proactive, alert, and committed to going above and beyond
What You’ll Need
To excel in this role, you should:
- Have a hands-on approach, with an eye for detail (previous cleaning/maintenance experience is beneficial but not essential)
- Be driven, independent, and eager to learn on the job
- Bring passion for delivering the best service—for your team and customers alike
