The Role
We are excited to recruit a Cleaner for our Nursery provision, ensuring our children receive a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment.
About the Post
- Grade: 1 (SCP 3)
- Salary: £24,796 per annum (Full-Time Equivalent, pro rata)
- Take-home pay (as per stated): £5,641.24
- Hours per week: 10 hours
- Working days: Monday to Friday (before or after school hours to suit the candidate)
- Term: Term-time only
- Start Date: 1 September 2026
- Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards in designated nursery spaces, supporting our safe, welcoming environment. Tasks include:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing floors
- Cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, fixtures, and fittings
- Maintaining toilets and associated facilities
- Collecting and disposing of waste safely
- Using cleaning equipment in line with health and safety guidance
- Supporting overall safe and welcoming conditions for children
Person Specification
We’re looking for a trustworthy and committed individual who:
- Takes proud pride in high cleanliness standards
- Is reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Understands the crucial importance of hygiene in a nursery setting
- Is committed to safeguarding children and protecting their welfare
- Will undertake relevant training if required
