The Role

We are excited to recruit a Cleaner for our Nursery provision, ensuring our children receive a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment.

About the Post

  • Grade: 1 (SCP 3)
  • Salary: £24,796 per annum (Full-Time Equivalent, pro rata)
  • Take-home pay (as per stated): £5,641.24
  • Hours per week: 10 hours
  • Working days: Monday to Friday (before or after school hours to suit the candidate)
  • Term: Term-time only
  • Start Date: 1 September 2026
  • Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards in designated nursery spaces, supporting our safe, welcoming environment. Tasks include:

  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing floors
  • Cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, fixtures, and fittings
  • Maintaining toilets and associated facilities
  • Collecting and disposing of waste safely
  • Using cleaning equipment in line with health and safety guidance
  • Supporting overall safe and welcoming conditions for children

Person Specification

We’re looking for a trustworthy and committed individual who:

  • Takes proud pride in high cleanliness standards
  • Is reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Understands the crucial importance of hygiene in a nursery setting
  • Is committed to safeguarding children and protecting their welfare
  • Will undertake relevant training if required
