Cleaner

Cleaner (Part-Time, Term-Time Only)

Location: Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre, Hope Valley, S33 0BJ


Salary: £25,185 per annum (pro rata)

Type of Vacancy: Permanent

Hours per Week: 15 (termin-time only)

Work Pattern: Part-time – Term-Time Only, site-based Typical Days/Times: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings or early afternoons


About Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre

Nestled in the beautiful Hope Valley, Nottinghamshire Council’s Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre specialises in outdoor learning experiences for schools and groups. At 62 beds, this residential centre relies on dedicated professionals—including you—to maintain its welcoming, well-presented, and hygienic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Cleaner will ensure our facility remains a safe, appealing, and smooth-running space for all visitors. Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining all floor areas, internal windows, walls, and furniture to the highest standards, with an emphasis on cleanliness and presentation.
  • Polishing floors, furniture, and surfaces; restoring carpets, upholstery, and storage facilities through professional deep-cleaning methods.
  • Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, worktops, and storage to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring both guest and staff bathrooms, along with other utilities, are sparkling clean and sanitary.
  • Supporting with bed linen, towels, and group uniforms, using council-approved laundry procedures.
  • Adhering to assigned cleaning schedules, delivering consistent quality without compromise.

Experience & Skills

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • A practical approach to hygiene: Experience in domestic or commercial cleaning environments (prior work in schools, hotels, or residential sites is a +).
  • Health and safety awareness: Familiarity with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), risk assessments, and relevant councils safeguarding protocols.
  • Personal reliability: Discretion and independence in managing workloads (minimum education of general school leaving age required).
