Role: Estates Cleaner – Property Services
Job Type: Permanent Start Date: ASAP Salary: £36,850 per annum
An Estates Caretaker / Cleaner is required to join a well-established housing provider, delivering high-quality estate services across residential properties throughout Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The role involves maintaining communal areas and external spaces to a high standard, ensuring estates remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents. Previous experience within estate services, cleaning, or property maintenance is preferred.
Daily Responsibilities
- Cleaning communal areas, including hallways, stairwells, and shared facilities
- Carrying out routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, wiping surfaces, removing rubbish, and restocking supplies
- Cleaning and maintaining bin stores to ensure they remain tidy and accessible
- Removing litter, leaves, dog waste, and other debris from external areas
- Sweeping pathways and hardstanding areas, supporting with winter gritting and snow clearance
- Cleaning lift interiors and maintaining communal fixtures
- Reporting repairs, health and safety concerns, tenancy issues, and areas requiring specialist cleaning
- Maintaining accurate records of completed works using handheld technology
- Ordering and safely storing cleaning products and equipment
- Providing excellent customer service while working within occupied residential estates
- Driving company vehicles safely between sites across the region
- Responding to emergency situations and carrying out additional duties where required

- Previous experience within estate services, communal cleaning, or property maintenance
- Good knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and health & safety procedures
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving license is essential
- Ability to cover multiple sites across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire
- Experience using handheld devices or mobile technology to record completed work is desirable
