Job Title: Cleaner & Laundry Assistant
Location: Woodsmith Mine, Sneaton, Whitby, YO22 5BF
Key Details:
- Pay rate: £13.27 per hour
- Contract type: Permanent, part-time (23 hours per week)
- Shift pattern: Saturdays & Sundays
- Shift times: 0600–1800 with a ½-hour unpaid break
About the Role
Aramark UK is currently recruiting for a part-time Cleaner & Laundry Assistant to join their team at Woodsmith Mine.
You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across key areas, including:
- Boot rooms
- Offices (including desks and equipment)
- WC and shower areas
- Canteen facilities
- Additional laundry assistance duties
High standards of cleanliness are expected, along with punctual completion of tasks and proper storage/repair of equipment.
Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following duties:
- Clean, declutter, and sanitise boot rooms, washrooms, canteens, and welfare areas to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Conduct regular floor sweeping, mopping, hoovering and general dusting.
- Ensure rubbish disposal and proper waste management.
- Inspect and report hazards or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Work independently or as part of a team to cover daily duties efficiently.
- Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, and ironing where applicable.

Requirements
✅ Must have a legal right to work in the UK
✅ Training provided – No prior experience is strictly required, though a keen attitude to detail and HSE-compliant cleaning are advantages.
⚠️ Strict health & safety policy: The site has a zero-tolerance alcohol/drug policy, with daily testing enforced.
