About The Role
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Use cleaning materials as instructed by the Chargehand.
- Operate cleaning machinery for cleaning soft and hard surfaces, e.g. vacuum cleaners and polishers.
- Vacuum cleaning hard and soft floors.
- Spot cleaning of spillages.
- Wipe furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork.
- Polish door glass and windows.
- Empty and clean waste and recycling bins.
- Clean toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
- Mop and spray clean hard floor surfaces.
- Wipe over, polish and straighten furniture.
- Replenish supplies in toilets and classrooms, etc.
- Check and close windows, switch off lights after work, lock doors when rooms are completed.
- Report misuse or vandalism.
- During holiday periods when the school is closed, or annual deep cleans routine cleaning is undertaken throughout the school. This may include stripping and sealing floors, removing chewing gum from floors, under desks, etc., high level dusting, wall washing, and moving furniture to deep clean classrooms, etc.
- Undertake any additional cleaning duties as directed, by the Cleaning Area Supervisor or Soft Services Manager.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed, in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.

Skills & Knowledge:
- Previous experience in a cleaning environment, preferably multi-site.
Personal Specification:
- A pro-active attitude.
- Self-driven.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to form relationships with clients and to exceed customer expectation.
- Approachable demeanour and a demonstrable commitment to team working.
- A commitment to continuing professional development in relation to themselves and their team members.
Work Pattern:
- Monday-Friday
- Zero hour contract
