Cleaning and Laundry Assistant – The Downs
Role Overview
Our client seeks a Cleaning and Laundry Assistant to join the Domestic Operations team, supporting high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across classrooms, offices, boarding houses, bedrooms, and the Sports Complex. The role also includes end-of-term cleans, summer lets, pre-season checks, and preparing accommodation for new academic terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness across all campus facilities, including:
- Classrooms
- Offices
- Boarding houses
- Bedrooms
- Sports Complex
- Affront end-of-term cleans, summer lets, and pre-/post-season re-sets
- Carry out tasks efficiently and to deadlines, either independently or as part of a team
Working Pattern
- 20 hours per week, 52 weeks a year
- Start time: 06:00 AM (5 days in 7)
- Part-time flexibility with occasional weekend work required

Essential Skills & Attributes
- Can-do attitude with the ability to follow instructions accurately and complete work on time, either independently or as part of a team
- Health & safety awareness and compliance with workplace protocols
- Professional demeanour: polite, friendly, and courteous
- Punctuality and strong time management skills
- Flexibility with the ability to adapt to varying working hours

Application Process

This is a non-direct childcare role, but the requirement for an Enhanced DBS check and safeguarding Commitment applies due to limited face-to-face interaction with children.
