Cleaning Operations - Restaurants and Kitchens (Assistant Manager, Nights)

Our Store Services team are now looking for an Assistant Manager – Store Services (Nights) to help deliver exceptional standards across our iconic Knightsbridge store across Restaurants and Kitchens.

This is a hands-on leadership role within our Facilities function, where you’ll play a key part in ensuring our overnight cleaning and hygiene operations run seamlessly. Working closely with your Store Services Manager, you’ll lead and motivate a large operational team, maintain exceptional standards, and help create an environment where colleagues can perform at their very best.

About the Role

In this role, you will support the leadership of the Restaurants and Kitchens Store Services operation during night shifts, ensuring the team delivers their duties efficiently and to the highest standards. Reporting into the Store Services Manager, you’ll work on a 5 over 7 rota including weekends and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure sufficient operational cover and a consistently exceptional cleaning and hygiene offering.

You’ll be accountable for maintaining routine cleaning standards, planned works and reactive tasks, while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment. A strong focus on people leadership, compliance and engagement will be central to your success.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring optimum team cover at all times to meet operational requirements Managing routine, planned and reactive cleaning tasks across the store Supporting stock, uniform and equipment management to ensure sufficient supplies Ensuring waste management procedures are followed in line with Harrods sustainability commitments Promoting and maintaining Health & Safety compliance at all times Delivering effective shift handovers, briefings and training sessions Confidently managing conflict and resolving issues as they arise Leading, developing and motivating the Store Services team to deliver exceptional standards Managing onboarding, probation, absence, conduct and people matters in line with company policy Completing all required Workday tasks for direct reports This role is fully on site, working 5 out of the 7 days a week including weekends.

About You

You will be an experienced and confident people leader who is comfortable taking full ownership of a night‑shift operation. You thrive in an operational environment, lead by example, and take pride in maintaining outstanding standards across hygiene, housekeeping and compliance.

You will:

Have proven experience leading and developing large teams within a cleaning, facilities or operational environment within restaurants and kitchens Bring strong knowledge of hygiene, food safety, audit and Health & Safety standards Be confident managing performance, absence, conduct and difficult conversations Have the ability to engage, motivate and inspire colleagues to deliver their best Demonstrate emotional intelligence and self‑awareness, adapting your communication style when needed Be resilient, tenacious and open to feedback and personal development Show a genuine commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive team culture Be organised, adaptable and comfortable managing shifting priorities overnight
