Cleaning Operative
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 17:30–20:00 – 12.5 hours per week Pay: £12.71 per hour Location: PIB Gloucester – Southgate House, Southgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 1DL Reporting to: Operations Manager
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced cleaner to join the site cleaning team at PIB in Gloucester.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out a range of cleaning tasks, safely and professionally, to a high standard. You must be able to demonstrate:
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to communicate on all levels
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts as and when required
If you do not already hold a valid DBS certificate, you will require a DBS check before starting.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning of designated areas, ensuring the agreed cleaning specification is completed as per site instructions
- Emptying of bins, ensuring recycled waste is disposed of correctly
- Responding to spillages by cleaning them up within an efficient timeframe, to prevent accidents and ensure site and staff safety
- Following H&S (health and safety) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- Use of site-specific equipment, machinery, and handling chemicals
- Providing proactive customer service through interaction with clients on-site
- Completing any other reasonable management requests

Requirements
- Understanding of COSHH
- Good attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Flexibility to cover shifts as and when required
- Reliable and responsible, with a flexible approach
- Basic DBS check (required for new candidates)
