Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a reliable, motivated and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at Campus Reading International. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and customers across communal office areas, and restaurant spaces.
This role requires a high attention to detail, excellent time management and the ability to work independently while maintaining high cleaning standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean communal office areas, including desks, meeting rooms, reception areas and shared spaces.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop hard and carpeted floors.
- Clean restaurant and dining areas, ensuring floors, tables and high-touch surfaces are hygienically maintained.
- Empty waste and recycling bins and replace liners.
- Clean washroom facilities, replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet rolls and paper towels.
- Dust and wipe all accessible surfaces.
- Spot clean glass, doors and internal windows where required.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with COSHH and company procedures.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and site-specific procedures.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
- Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.
Desirable
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
- Experience cleaning commercial offices or hospitality environments.
- Understanding of colour coding and infection prevention cleaning methods.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- Part-time, 25 hours per week
Physical Requirements
This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, bending, lifting, carrying cleaning equipment and operating cleaning machinery where required.
Salary - £12.71/hr
