Cleaning Operative
Cleaning Operative – Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)
Location: The Sidings, Waterloo
Shift Pattern: Monday–Sunday
- Days: 0600–1400
- Afternoons: 1400–2200
- Nights: 2200–0630
Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour

Job Objective & Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive Cleaning Operative to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff. You will perform cleaning duties indoors and outdoors at a high standard, directly supporting the daily operations of The Sidings, Waterloo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning floors (including toilets, management suites, and back-of-house areas)
- Performing mopping, dusting, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, litter picking, and removing large debris from floors
- Cleaning glass doors, windows, panels, and stainless-steel fixtures
- Maintenance of external and internal areas such as service yards and turning circles
- Acting as a customer point of contact, offering support as needed
- Identifying and reporting health and safety issues to the control room immediately
- Ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming atmosphere for clients, tenants, and visitors
- Brand ambassadorship for The Sidings, Waterloo and ABM

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Cleaning service experience, preferably in a retail or similar environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Independence to use initiative, identify, and prioritise tasks
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A friendly, approachable, and courteous approach
- Exceptional attention to detail in cleaning responsibilities
- Flexibility to adapt to the demands of the role and business
