Role & Overview
The Cleaning Supervisor is a vital position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall well-being of the UNIVERSITY’s environment. This role ensures a welcoming, safe, and professional space for students, staff, and visitors while delivering high-quality, efficient cleaning services.
Reporting directly to the Head of Housekeeping Services, the Supervisor will oversee a team of cleaning staff within a designated area, ensuring all duties align with UNIVERSITY policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
This requires a hands-on approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of both team members and the UNIVERSITY community.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising cleaning staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Monitoring compliance with UNIVERSITY’s health, safety, and operational standards
- Responding effectively to service requests while maintaining flexibility
- Collaborating with other departments to improve operational efficiency
- Ensuring designated areas meet or exceed expected cleanliness and safety standards
- Maintaining professional standards in all interactions with staff and visitors

Requirements & Skills
- Strong supervisory and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a variety of routine tasks efficiently
- Hands-on experience in cleaning operations (experience in Higher Education is advantageous, though not required)
- Proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond quickly to changing demands
- Excellent communication skills, including cross-level team engagement
- Displays a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour

Job Details
- Pay rate: £17.28 per hour
- Duration: 3 months (temporary position)
- Working hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Location: Central London (fully onsite)
