About the Role

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Cleaning Supervisor to perform cleaning duties at Grove House.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of cleaners, ensuring all work areas meet the required cleaning standards
  • Carry out exclusive cleaning duties including:
    • General cleaning (damp wiping, surface cleaning)
    • Toilet cleaning and decontamination
    • Operation of cleaning equipment (e.g., scrubber dryers, carpet cleaners)
    • Damp mapping where necessary
  • Train and support new staff, conduct induction sessions, and assess team performance
  • Conduct internal audits to assess cleanliness standards
  • Perform basic administrative duties, including:
    • Reporting holidays and sickness
    • Acting as the first point of contact for both clients and Area Coordinators

Requirements

  • Experience in cleaning supervision or a similar role is desirable but not mandatory
  • Willingness to provide DBS enhanced clearance (mandatory for this position)
  • Ability to guarantee regular attendance Monday - Friday (11:00 - 15:00)
  • Some weekend work may occasionally be required
  • Access to personal transport or alternative arrangements for commuting to Grove House, Adlington (PR6 9RH)
