Job Role: Cleaning Supervisor

Location & Details

  • Base: St Johns Shopping Centre, St George’s Place, Liverpool (L1 1LY)
  • Hours: 38.5 per week, flexible shifts (including weekends) (Reliable transport for early starts, e.g., shifts beginning at 6am, required.)
  • Pay: £15.25 per hour
  • Reports to: Soft Services Manager & Associate Key Accounts Director

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen with Anchor Group Services for a Cleaning Supervisor at St Johns Shopping Centre, Liverpool. This hands-on, customer-facing role demands strong leadership and operational excellence.

You’ll lead by example, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the team to uphold exceptional cleaning, safety, and hospitality standards. While supervision is a core part of the role, expect physical engagement—your presence will set the tone.

The centre relies on this team to curate a positive and welcoming experience for shoppers, retailers, and visitors. We seek someone who thrives in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment—someone who takes pride in the details, notices what others miss, and motivates their team to deliver.

This is a fully flexible role, requiring availability across varied shifts (including weekends). Prospective candidates must demonstrate the ability to confidently lead amid changing demands, while maintaining a proactive, adaptable approach.

Key Responsibilities

-Lead from the front, ensuring every cleaning team member exemplifies exceptional standards daily. -Maintain immaculate standards throughout the shopping centre, encompassing every nook and corner. -Act as a welcoming ambassador—providing a professional, helpful presence for customers and retailers. -Conduct daily walk-throughs, promptly identifying and resolving maintenance or presentation issues. -Demonstrate visible leadership by mentoring team members to uphold rigorous performance. -Build strong rapport with colleagues, retailers, and the wider public. -Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and COSHH regulations. -Respond flexibly to operational challenges and evolving priorities.

Requirements

Experience

Proven track record in:

  • Cleaning or facilities management
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience with lead-from-the-front mentality
  • Retail or commercial cleaning environments preferred.

Technical Ability

  • Deep understanding of industry cleaning standards and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of Health & Safety, Hazardous Waste, and COSHH compliance.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong communication & visibility—able to represent the brand effectively.
  • Conflict resolution & solution-focused mindset—calm, diplomatic, and Cornell deputed under stress.
  • Highly organised and reliable; initiates effort to sustain excellence.
