Cleaning Supervisor – The Orchard / The Cove (Morecambe)
About the Role
- Working Pattern: Based at The Orchard or The Cove (Plover Drive, Morecambe, LA3 2SL) with responsibility for both sites. Must have access to a vehicle and hold a valid driving licence. Working hours: 0900 - 1700, with potential for occasional weekend cover as required by business needs.
A Cleaning Supervisor will lead and support cleaning teams to deliver high-quality, consistent cleaning services across client sites. You’ll ensure smooth daily operations, maintain service standards, motivate colleagues, and enforce health & safety and company procedures.
This role is critical in delivering efficient, safe, and client-focused cleaning services that meet agreed specifications, KPIs, and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
As part of your role, you will, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and support cleaning staff to ensure work meets required standards
- Allocate tasks, manage daily cleaning schedules, and provide on-job guidance
- Conduct regular quality checks and address issues promptly
- Ensure cleaning adheres to specifications, KPIs, and client expectations
- Assist with induction and training of new starters, including safe systems of work
- Enforce health & safety, COSHH, and company compliance at all times
- Use cleaning equipment/materials safely, storing and maintaining them properly
- Monitor and report stock levels of cleaning materials and equipment faults to management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients or site contacts on operational matters
- Escalate issues, incidents, or concerns to senior management as needed

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Must have a right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo a DBS check
- Previous experience in a cleaning or facilities environment, preferably in a supervisory role
- UK driving licence and must own/use a vehicle
- Strong knowledge of cleaning processes, equipment, and materials
- Awareness of health & safety and COSHH requirements
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Excellent communication skills with a professional approach
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet site and operational needs
Desirable
- Experience in Facilities Management (FM) or contracted cleaning services
- Knowledge of COSHH or machine cleaning (training can be provided)
- Catering experience, particularly within an FM or NHS environment
