SHIFT PATTERN:
- Monday to Friday, between 6:00am and 7:00pm.
- Flexibility is required to meet business needs.
- Shifts are 9 hours per day (including a 1-hour unpaid break), 40 hours per week.
PAY RATE: £15.54 per hour

Role Overview And Purpose
The Cleaning Team Leader (Non-Working) is responsible for supervising and leading the cleaning team—which may include Porters, window cleaners, and other specialist cleaning staff—on a high-profile corporate site within an office environment. The role focuses on team supervision, quality standards, client experience, Health & Safety, and ensuring cleaning tasks are completed to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all members of the daytime cleaning team, which may include Porters, window cleaners, and other specialist cleaning staff, ensuring cohesive teamwork and consistent service standards across all roles.
- Supervise and lead the cleaning team to ensure daily tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
- Allocate work across the team and adjust cover to meet service needs (including managing holiday allocation).
- Maintain high standards of presentation and service delivery appropriate for a corporate office environment.
- Monitor and control periodic task schedules to ensure completion and quality standards are met.
- Complete quality checks on periodic and specialist works once completed and address any issues promptly.
- Oversee the safe use of cleaning machinery by the team, ensuring correct procedures are followed.
- Provide training and guidance to team members, including new starters, refreshers, and task-specific training as required.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, audits, and site records.
- Manage the team's Time & Attendance (T&A) system entries and ensure accuracy.
- Complete and submit staff payroll information in line with internal processes and deadlines.
- Conduct team briefings and ensure clear communication across shifts.
- Report to Supervisor and liaise with the Line Manager on operational updates, escalations, and after-event clean-ups where required.
- Take accountability for team performance, standards, and behaviours.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety compliance across the team.

Person Specification
- Previous experience leading and supervising a cleaning team (office/corporate environment).
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality standards.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written including emails) with internal and external stakeholders.
- IT Skills: basic knowledge required of Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Ability to prioritise workload, plan effectively, and build positive working relationships.
- Calm under pressure and able to problem-solve proactively.
- Customer-focused approach with a professional, smart appearance.
- Ability to work on own initiative and take full responsibility for the role.
- Ability to follow processes and ensure the team follows required instructions.
Essential (Site Vetting Requirement)
As part of the recruitment vetting process for our client site, all successful candidates will be required to complete background verification and undergo security checks, including criminal/credit checks prior to start date. Candidates will be asked to provide documented evidence of eligibility and will need to have 5 years of checkable accommodation address history (this will be explained in more detail at interview stage).
