£31,334.74 per annum
40 hours per week working any 5 days out of 7.
Shifts between 8am - 5pm.
Successful candidate may be required to work later shifts to ensure they can lead their team effectively including the night shift.

Job Introduction

We're recruiting for a Cleaning Team Manager to join the Engineering and Facilities team at our brand-new Distribution Centre in Doncaster. This is a unique opportunity to help establish the cleaning operation, build and develop your team, and shape working practices before the site becomes fully operational.

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Manager, you'll work alongside the wider Engineering and Facilities team, operational stakeholders, and contractors to prepare the site for handover, implement cleaning standards, and ensure everything is in place to support a safe, efficient, and high-performing operation from day one.

Once the Distribution Centre is operational, you'll lead the day-to-day cleaning function, ensuring exceptional standards are maintained across the warehouse, offices, welfare facilities, and on-site Training Centre accommodation. Through effective planning, resource allocation, training, and collaboration with operational teams, you'll drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, helping create an environment where our colleagues and automation systems can perform at their very best.

Job Overview

  • Cleaning Operations: Develop and deliver H&S-compliant cleaning schedules, ensuring exceptional cleanliness standards are maintained across all designated areas.
  • Team & Resource Management: Manage rotas, staffing levels, performance, and resource allocation to ensure efficient service delivery and achievement of operational KPIs.
  • Training Centre Housekeeping: Manage the housekeeping operation for the on-site Training Centre accommodation, ensuring bedrooms, communal areas, and facilities are consistently maintained to the highest standards for visiting colleagues.
  • Training & Compliance: Deliver engaging inductions and ensure the team operates safely, adhering to H&S procedures, COSHH regulations, and company policies.
  • Stock & Equipment Management: Oversee cleaning stock, consumables, and equipment, ensuring availability, compliance, and safe working practices at all times.
  • Budget Management: Manage cleaning budgets and expenditure, ensuring cost-effective service delivery without compromising quality, safety, or operational standards.

Minimum Criteria To Apply

  • Previous experience within an operational cleaning environment.
  • Experience leading or supervising cleaning teams.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals.
