Job Description
The role
The firm's Global Risk team is managed by the global General Counsel and based in London.
The Clearance Centre is a central part of the firm's risk management function and reports ultimately to the firm's General Counsel. The Clearance Centre is responsible for the management of conflicts of interest, anti-money laundering and associated compliance issues across Clifford Chance's global practice.

Purpose of the role
The Clearance Administration Team provides important support to the Firm globally and to the conflicts and anti-money laundering teams in the performance of those functions. The role varies from general administrative tasks to investigative analysis of the Clearance systems.
Key responsibilities
The role involves a variety of responsibilities, primarily related to the following:
- The opening, amending, closing, re-opening and transferring of new matters and clients in the firm's global practice management system.
- Assisting lawyers, secretaries and others with the client and matter opening process and other clearance related queries.
- Maintenance of firm databases.
- The generation, distribution and analysis of reports.
Accordingly, day to day responsibilities include:
- Searching, reviewing, entering and maintaining information held in the Clearance Centre databases.
- Maintaining, closing, reactivating and transferring clients and matters using the global practice management system.
- Clearing specific matters and managing the sensitivity of matters on the multiple Clearance systems.
- Working closely with the other Clearance Administration and Clearance Centre team members to resolve a variety of clearance related issues.
- Providing administrative support for requests for consent to deal in listed securities, and the maintenance of related databases.
- Grouping clients and matters.
- Working through various reports and spreadsheets covering different aspects of the clearance process.
- Liaising with IT support to resolve technical IT related queries for the Clearance Centre.
Qualifications
Your experience
- Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to accurately input data.
- Previous experience of working independently and as part of a small team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
- Experience of working in a corporate environment (preferably a law firm).
- Ability to exercise initiative and be a self-starter.
- Ability to think outside the box, solve problems in a methodical, practical way and provide solutions.
- Excellent technical skills including using Windows based PC software and database experience essential as well as a willingness to adapt to new processes and technology.
