Clerical Assistant
Location: Hamilton Contract: Initial 3-month contract Pay Rate: £13.84–£15.59 per hour
Venesky-Brown’s client—a public sector organisation in Hamilton—is seeking a Clerical Assistant for an initial 3-month contract on a rate of £13.84–£15.59 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support to the Business Unit, ensuring a high level of security, confidentiality, and efficiency to contribute to effective service delivery
- Process correspondence and documentation to communicate and present service information clearly and concisely
- Handle and maintain sensitive information strictly according to pre-determined procedures and standards
- Perform specialist clerical tasks aligned with given procedures, instructions, and standards to support service provision
- Extract data from job tickets, timesheets, and stock lists, then accurately input it into the new repairs system
- Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operation of the Business Unit

Essential Requirements
- Experience working in busy offices and fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages (excellent working knowledge required), including maintaining/extracting data from spreadsheets and producing professional word documents
- Hands-on experience with inputting data into a housing repairs system
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Openness to developing new skills and learning as required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing relevant knowledge and information effectively
- Self-motivated, capable of maintaining high standards with minimal supervision
- Flexible, adaptable approach while maintaining discretion and tact in all situations
- Experience managing tight deadlines within a fast-paced office
- Commitment to honesty, fairness, and respectful behaviour in all interactions
- Willingness/ability to undergo mandatory training
