Advertisement Details
The postholder will be based in the relevant School Office and will be managed by the Head Teacher. The postholder will assist the Head Teacher with the provision of a variety of administrative/clerical duties and will assist in the supervision of an Employed Trainee.
Specific Tasks Of The Clerical Assistant Will Be
- To provide switchboard and reception duties, being the first point of contact at the school, dealing with enquiries from staff, pupils, parents, outside agencies and the general public.
- Logging and sorting mail and preparing mail for posting.
- To assist with record keeping and processing of all types of financial transactions, including purchase orders, invoices and journals, and day-to-day administration and banking of school meals money, the School Fund and petty cash.

- The grade of this post is F
- Rate of pay shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour
- Permanent Part Time post for 12.0 Hours per Week, 40 weeks per year plus 6.4 weeks (pro rata) paid holiday to be taken during school holidays
- Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update
- A relocation package does not apply to this post
- We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland
