About Drummond Community High School
Drummond Community High School is a fully comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school based in Edinburgh city centre. With a growing school roll, we are committed to Nurturing Big Ambitions, offering diverse and inclusive educational opportunities from S1 to S6 that prepare learners for future success.
Our leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, a Business Manager, and a Senior Development Officer.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clerical Assistant to join our Office Administration team, working 36 hours per week primarily focused on daily attendance management as part of a sessional post.
📍 Primary Location: Drummond Community High School, Edinburgh £ Salary: £26,806–£27,032 (pro-rated for part-time/sessional roles) ⌚ Hours: 36 per week (0.8 FTE)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update student attendance records daily
- Assist with administrative workflows within the Office Administration team
- Contribute to the overall operations of the school

Requirements
Essential
- Basic IT skills with experience in Microsoft Office tools
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate records
- Good communication skills and the ability to deliver a friendly, helpful service
- Commitment to working with children according to safeguarding guidelines (including PVG Scheme requirements)
Desirable
- Prior experience in an educational or school administrative environment
- Familiarity with attendance management systems
- Interest in contributing to a diverse, supportive school community
🔍 Important Note: This post is regulated work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Act. The successful candidate will need to complete a PVG Scheme application (or update), plus an Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable. Conditional employment depends on favourable employment checks.
