Clerk of Works – Higher Education (Queen Mary, University of London)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clerk of Works to join a large and prestigious higher education institution in London. Working within a busy Estates and Facilities team, you will play a key role in overseeing a diverse portfolio of capital, refurbishment, maintenance, retrofit, and decarbonisation projects across a complex estate.
This position will be responsible for ensuring contractors deliver works in accordance with:
- Project specifications
- Quality standards
- Health and safety requirements
- Agreed programmes

- Hold a degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline
- Have a proven record of experience monitoring contractor performance
- Ensure compliance with project specifications
- Minimum of significant experience working as a:
- Clerk of Works
- Site Inspector
- Similar supervisory role
Core competencies required:
- Strong understanding of building regulations and construction methods
- Expertise in building services and health & safety legislation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and sites independently
