About the Role
The position is a part-time, on-site role based in St Neots as a Clerk of Works. Responsibilities include:
- Regular site inspections to monitor construction quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Recording and reporting site findings, identifying defects or deviations from plans.
- Liaising with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve issues.
- Reviewing drawings and documentation, unswapping materials and finishes.
- Supporting the project team to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of housing projects.

Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- Construction inspection, quality control, and site supervision experience within residential or housing projects.
- Strong understanding of:
- Building regulations
- Construction standards
- Health and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Skills & Competencies
- Effective communication and report-writing, with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, and clients while maintaining professional impartiality.
- Relevant background in:
- Construction
- Surveying
- Building control, or a related discipline.
- Advantageous:
- Vocational qualifications or certifications.
Organisational & Professional
- Good organisational and time-management skills, able to:
- Plan site visits
- Prioritise multiple projects.
- Competence in using basic IT tools (e.g., email, word processing, digital reporting).
