Are you a Quality-minded individual who has built a career on driving a ‘Right first time’ approach from the ground up; walking the project site, checking finishes, and identifying defects. Do you understand the anatomy of a build inside out, are you first to notice when something is about to go wrong and can react to mitigate further errors.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Do you recognise that quality isn’t just about paperwork—it’s about planning. We are looking for someone who is ready to move from identifying problems to actively preventing them.
The Role
Do you have a Construction background and experience in Construction Quality, then this role maybe for you. We are not looking for a site inspector. We are looking for a Quality Advisor to join our project teams and shift the focus from reactive reporting to pre-emptive mitigation.
In this role, you will be working closely with project site teams and Stepnell’s Supply Chain. You aren’t just identifying defects and handing them over to an already busy site team; you are an architect of the project’s success. You will work with our project teams to ensure the "Golden Thread" of information is verifiable, robust, and recorded. You will be the technical lead who helps our site managers and trade partners plan for, deliver and be proud of their right first time work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibility
- Engineering Quality into the Build: You’ll be diving into Trade Quality Plans (TQPs) and Quality Risk Evaluations (QREs) before a single material hits the site to prevent and where possible mitigate quality risk. You’ll support the creation of quality method statements, inspection and testing plans, and ensure our site teams are set up and ready to deliver.
- Proactive Mitigation: You will support high-risk trades early, verifying they have the competence and capacity on site to deliver work right first time.
- Technical Authority: When site issues arise, you are the technical lead. You don’t just log an NCR—you identify the root cause and support the corrective action planning and collaboration that gets the project back on track and verify completed work.
- Mentorship: You’ll be the person the Site Managers and supply chain supervision look to for technical backing when the pressure is on. You will mentor our teams to embed quality as a core operational discipline, not a box-ticking exercise.
