Client Manager / Senior Manager
Location: Bolton
Salary: Competitive
A well-established and growing accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an experienced Client Manager / Senior Manager to join its Bolton office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to take on a key leadership role, managing a portfolio of clients while supporting the ongoing growth and development of the practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base, while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
- Build strong client relationships and provide proactive business and financial advice.
- Oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and personal tax matters.
- Lead client assignments from planning through to completion.
- Ensure compliance deadlines are met across the client portfolio.
- Support clients with tax planning and business growth strategies.
- Manage, mentor, and develop team members, providing technical guidance and leadership.
- Drive process improvements and support the adoption of new technologies.
- Identify opportunities to grow client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Attend client meetings and act as a trusted adviser on accounting and commercial matters.

About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Excellent technical knowledge across accounts preparation and taxation.
- Good understanding of FRS 102 reporting standards.
- Experience with cloud accounting software, including Xero.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client service.
- Passionate about developing people and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
