**Client Affairs Case Worker (CASO) |

About the Role
As a Client Affairs Case Worker (CASO), you will join a mission-driven team that provides essential support to vulnerable adults who rely on East Sussex County Council’s (ESCC) Adult Social Care services. Your role will focus on individuals lacking mental capacity to manage their own finances and property through either:
- A Department for Work and Pensions Appointeeship
- A Court of Protection Deputyship
Your duties will include:
- Overseeing and managing clients’ financial affairs
- Handling inquiries via post, email, and telephone
- Assisting with benefits and income applications
- Ensuring timely payment of bills and expenses
- Collaborating with Adult Social Care teams and external organisations to deliver high-quality care
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact point for clients and key stakeholders
- Review and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Coordinate with professionals to optimise support for vulnerable individuals
- Provide clarity and assistance to troubled clients where mental capacity is limited
Requirements
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
- Exceptional communication skills

- Adequate numeracy skills
- Teamwork and cooperation with cross-functional professionals

Due to the nature of this position, you must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess the capacity to manage high-pressure workloads with resilience. The client’s safety is non-negotiable, thus adherence to confidentiality standards is required.
