About the Role

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Scarsdale Vets, Oakwood on a full-time or part-time permanent basis.

Located in the heart of Oakwood, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Scarsdale Vets. Scarsdale Veterinary Group is a leading veterinary provider in the Midlands, based in Derby. We are committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care for pets, horses, and farm animals, with a focus on outstanding customer service and high-quality care. We are happy to consider both full-time and part-time applications.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Client Care Advisor, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming, professional experience for every client and patient. Working in a busy practice that sees both routine and emergency medical and surgical cases, you'll help ensure the smooth running of reception while supporting the highest standards of client and patient care.

Working Pattern

Flexible working between 8:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
  • Manage appointments and client visits in line with practice protocols
  • Answer telephone calls and handle enquiries to a high standard
  • Manage client expectations and refer clinical queries to the veterinary team when appropriate
  • Process payments, insurance enquiries, and account administration accurately
  • Maintain accurate client records and support practice administration
  • Promote the Pet Health Club and preventative healthcare services
  • Work collaboratively to maintain a welcoming, safe, and professional practice environment

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

Essential:

  • Friendly, organised, and customer-focused individual who enjoys working as part of a team
  • Previous experience working within an effective customer service team
  • Excellent client care skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
  • Flexibility to work the required rota
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • A proactive attitude with openness to feedback and learning

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a busy reception environment
  • Veterinary reception experience
  • Knowledge of veterinary practice management systems
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and common conditions
