Creode is a Leeds-based agency specialising in consumer-facing, FCA-regulated financial services clients — including banks, building societies, insurers, wealth managers, and fintechs. Our work spans branding, digital projects, web development, campaigns, and content marketing, all delivered through a phased approach from discovery to launch. Now we’re transitioning from a short-term project model towards longer-term retained relationships and productised services, with a major focus on AI as both a tool for how we work and what we offer clients.

This role is at the heart of that transformation.

The Role

You’ll own a portfolio of client relationships while driving their growth, acting as a bridge between deeply understood sector expertise and new-business ambitions. It’s a dual responsibility:

  • Lead and expand existing accounts—spotting opportunities before clients do.
  • Actively shape how we win new business—contributing strategic credibility and discussions about AI and digital.

This is not a typical caretaker account-manager role. We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, can proactively expand success, advocate for clients, and lead the client services team, setting standards and fostering professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Leadership
    • Own relationships, commercial health, and growth across assigned accounts.
    • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities—new projects, retained arrangements, or additional AI-enabled services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

    • Collaborate with strategy, technical, and creative leads to shape proposals and delivery.

    • Help shape our transition to retained and productised offerings.
  • Team Development

    • Manage and lead the client services team, setting performance expectations and fostering a culture of growth.

Who We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll fall into one (or both) of these categories:

  1. Agency Expertise with FS Clients Demonstrate extensive experience working with FCA-regulated financial services—not just a handful of projects, but the kind of repeated engagement that shows you understand their decision-making processes, regulatory pressures, and operational quirks.

  2. Client-Side Background (FSA-Regulated Business) If you’ve moved from an in-house role (e.g., in marketing, digital, or compliance), we need someone who now grasps agency delivery, including:

    • Project scoping and resource allocation
    • Collaborative dynamics between creative and technical teams
    • Navigating client expectations while managing expectations upwards

The Winner

  • Comforteable with either pathway—but both is even better. In-house then agency (or vice versa) offers unparalleled perspective.
  • "I speak the language": No need to translate FS terms or processes—you instiect them authentically.

For all of these, you’ll share our:

  • Commercial focus: The ability to spot and act on growth opportunities.
  • Strategic mindset: The skill to step back from day-to-day tasks and see the bigger picture.
  • Pace: If everyone else is waiting, we’ll partner with someone who anticipates and takes the lead.
  • Creative and tech savviness: A genuine curiosity for how AI, data, and emerging digital trends shape (and complicate) financial services.

Relationships remains your anchor. You’re the person clients trust enough to follow into unexplored territory. Prospective clients will sense your maturity and conviction.

Not for People Who Prefer Complacency

  • This role demands initiative. It’s for hunters who thrive when challenges aren’t handed to them on a plate.
  • Safe delivery is welcome—but only as a prerequisite for ambitious expansion; not the full scope.

What You’ll Gain

  • Centrality at a pivotal moment in our agency’s evolution—where strategy, newtech, and client relationships intersect.
  • Autonomy to shape AI adoption within our operations and partner offerings.
  • Hybrid setup: Basecamp in our Leeds office, with flexibility to travel and collaborate remotely.
  • Performance-based remuneration tied to the client growth you stimulate.
  • The opportunity to build your reputation in a market where your NSF/FB cred matters.
