📍 Location: Leeds, hybrid 💰 Salary: c. £50,000–£60,000 base, plus £10,000 OTE tied to agency profitability 📢 Reporting to: CEO 👥 Direct reports: Client services team

-We’re seeking a Client Director for a Leeds-based agency, specialising in regulated and complex sectors, with a strong focus on financial services.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands how to:

  • Build trust with senior clients
  • Spot growth opportunities
  • Turn strong relationships into long-term commercial value

The agency specialises in brand, digital, web, campaign, and content work—often for organisations where detail matters, stakeholders are complex, and thinking must stand up to scrutiny.

Now evolving to longer-term partnerships, smarter services, and the thoughtful use of AI, this role sits at the heart of the next stage.

This isn’t a "keep the plates spinning and hope for renewal" kind of role—you’ll be leading key relationships, identifying opportunities, driving new business, and shaping a client services team.

Responsibilities

Key Duties

✔ Leading client accounts: Owning relationships, commercial health, and growth ✔ Driving account growth: Expanding existing accounts through new work, retained arrangements, and additional services ✔ Supporting new business pitches: Leveraging sector expertise and credibility in proposals ✔ Managing & developing a client services team: Setting high standards and fostering growth ✔ Collaborating with strategy, creative, and technical teams: Shaping proposals and delivery ✔ Staying ahead of AI & digital trends: Understanding how innovations create genuine client value ✔ Introducing innovative ideas: Ensuring AI is applied thoughtfully, not for its own sake ✔ Shaping the agency’s transition to longer-term client partnerships and defined services

Requirements & Skills

Experience & Background

  • Ideal candidates come from one (or both) of these paths:

    • Agency-side: Sustained experience working with financial services or complex, regulated clients (beyond one-and-done projects)
    • Client-side: Formerin a regulated business, likely in marketing, digital, or a related role, now ready for a fast-paced agency transition
  • Balanced perspective preferred: A mix of agency and client-side experience ensures you bring trusted insight that clients rely on and teams benefit from.

Essential Skills

  • Strong financial services or regulated sector knowledge
  • Proven track record in leading or growing client relationships
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders & prospects
  • Deep understanding of digital, brand, web, campaign or content delivery
  • Commercial acumen: Ability to assess growth, profitability, and opportunities
  • Collaboration skills: Working seamlessly with creative, strategy, and technical teams
  • Emerging tech awareness: Keen interest in AI’s impact on the industry—how it adds real client value
  • People leadership: Experience managing, mentoring, or developing client services teams
